Title: Effect of Neutrinos on Large Scale Structure

-

Speaker: Arka Banerjee from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Abstract: Neutrino oscillation experiments have shown that the Standard Model neutrinos are massive. The absolute mass scale of neutrinos is not known yet, but bounds from cosmology experiments such as the Planck mission already outperform those from terrestrial experiments, and will continue to improve in the next decade. In this talk, I will talk about various effects of massive neutrinos on the formation and properties of large scale structures (both in linear perturbation theory as well as in full non-linear simulations) in the Universe, and how they can be used to constrain the neutrino mass in current and future cosmological surveys.

Venue: Room 202 (Seminar room), Physics Department IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai
